Meet milady
Milady Averion
Milady Averion’s husband lost his job from a paint company when the pandemic hit in early 2020. During that time Milady was baking cakes just to augment the family income, but because of her husband’s sudden unemployment, her earnings from her cakes became the main family income. She started her cake business in 2018 receiving an average order of 2 cakes per month. As she worked on her business, she was able to grow it to an average cake production of 18 pieces a month. She does this with her small oven; the whole process takes her the whole day to bake the different layers of the cake and few more hours to decorate them with trimmings. Currently, Milady loses around 6 cake orders because of her oven’s limitations.
Wanted: Industrial Oven
Milady’s production will increase by more than 100% ( 36-40 cakes a month) if she would have a bigger industrial oven to use. This industrial oven will not only lower down baking time, it can also bake up to 8 layers of cake at one time and with even cooking that would minimize errors in her production. The cost of a second hand industrial gas oven is 15,000. With this equipment on hand, their sales and marketing efforts can be more aggressive. Milady’s husband handles promotion and delivery so she can focus on production. She also produces banana loaf breads and she can see an increase on this offering from 6 to 24 loaves a day. Milady is currently a chapter officer in the Cavite area.
