Juan’s IT Business Sustains His Family During a Crisis
Business Name: VDATAPERU
Business Nature: IT Solutions and Services
Country: Peru
My name is Juan Villanueva, and my interest in technology began during my school days when I studied at the José Granda National Technical School. This prestigious school, in addition to offering regular courses, included specialized technical training. It was there that my passion for technology was sparked. After graduating, I decided to continue my education in the field of electronics, enrolling at a national institute. After completing my studies, I worked for two years before embarking on a full-time mission.
Upon returning from my mission, I landed a job that, while not directly related to my electronics studies, gave me experience in the sales field, working for Movistar and Claro distributors, focusing on telecommunications.
It was in 2013 that I had the opportunity to join Daruchi, where I began working in technology until 2019. During this time, I developed a solid career in the field of information and communications technologies, specializing in comprehensive technical support for software, hardware, and networks.
In 2016, I faced the loss of my mother, a devastating experience that profoundly marked my life. Then, in 2020, the pandemic hit me hard, causing a feeling of suffocation and forcing me to pause for a while. My entrepreneurial project, focused exclusively on businesses, was affected by pandemic business closures. However, I didn’t let these adversities defeat me.
I decided to set up a space in my house to offer tech support. That’s when my cousin suggested I put up a sign to make myself more visible. I followed her advice, and little by little, neighbors began to spread the word. I applied all the tech support and networking knowledge I had acquired, in addition to providing exceptional customer service, to ensure that everyone was satisfied with the service.
In March 2022, my brother was admitted to the hospital due to a bacterial infection. We were focused on saving my brother’s life when our father passed away in June of the same year. This depleted my savings. I even sold my car to be able to help my brother. It was one of the hardest challenges I had both financially and emotionally, but my business helped me to support myself during this time.
Starting a business in this field isn’t easy. Every day is a constant battle against uncertainty and obstacles. However, despite the difficulties that constantly plague my path, I remain steadfast and determined. Every challenge is an opportunity for growth, a chance to prove to myself and the world that I can overcome any adversity.
This year, if all goes according to plan, I will see my dream come true, and I will open my own workshop. This workshop will not just be a physical space but a reflection of every effort, every tear, every sleepless night, and every small triumph I have achieved along my journey. It will be the fruit of my perseverance and my passion.
The Academy for Creating Enterprise helped me learn important business principles that I apply, including increasing your sales and reducing your costs. I also differentiate my business and continue to write down my daily and weekly goals.
I am deeply grateful to our Heavenly Father for the incredible opportunity He has given me. His strength and resilience have sustained me through the most difficult times, allowing me to overcome every challenge that has come my way. I have always believed that He offers us His hand and gives us the strength we need to endure. This journey has been a testament to resilience and adaptation, and I continue forward with the hope and determination to grow my business.
