Carmen Overcomes Her Fears and Starts a Cooking Business
Nature of Business: Food Preparation
Country: Argentina
As a single mother, Carmen felt that having a dependent job was the safest option. Upon taking the “How to Start and Grow My Business” course, she realized she could start her own business and still support her family. She decided to leverage her talent for cooking.
She started by cooking meals that could be frozen for those who worked during the day and didn’t have time to cook. This is a popular practice in Argentina, so she focused on preparing sweet things like cakes and cookies.
After training from the Academy, she stopped working full-time outside of the home and dedicated more time to her business. She continues to learn how to be self-sufficient.
“I am very grateful to be a member of the Church and to be able to have at my disposal all the teachings that the Church offers us,” said Carmen. “Over time, one realizes how many good things we have to learn, and we must take advantage of them for the development and well-being of our lives. I am happy to belong to the Academy and to have the gospel and a great family in my life.”
