Helen Builds a Strong Following for Her Business after Academy Training

Helen Friday Igah felt a strong need to help support her husband in managing their family’s responsibilities and ultimately make a difference in their lives, but she realized that she could only do that if she were contributing in some way. She began thinking about what she could do to achieve that goal.
While she had been in business for a while, she wasn’t seeing much growth. After joining the Academy, she learned how to keep better records of her business, including tracking expenses and monitoring inventory. After implementing Academy training, she now knows exactly how her money is being spent.
Helen also learned that by being kind and friendly to her customers, she was building loyalty to her shop, bringing people back again and again. She started by simply smiling at them and thanking them for their purchases. As they became more familiar with each other, she built on the relationship by asking about their well-being and engaging in friendly conversations. She now has loyal customers who love her services! These two principles have transformed her approach to business, making her business better.

Today, Helen sells 400 crates of eggs each week and will soon be expanding her business, increasing her customer base. She shares her testimony of her experience with other members of her chapter who are working to build their own businesses.
“The most rewarding part is that I can now support my husband in covering our home expenses, serve more effectively in my Church community, and even give back to my community in my own small way,” Helen says. “I’m so grateful for the growth and impact the Academy has had on my life and business!”
