Jadon Follows a Prompting to Start His Own Sushi Business

Name of Business: Ryu Sushi

Nature of Business: Restaurant

Country: Philippines

When Jadon and his wife had their first baby in 2017, they felt inspired to look for a better job. He fasted and prayed about the desire to create and grow a business. He was prompted that rather than just work as a sushi chef, he should start his own sushi restaurant. He participated in several Academy training sessions to learn how to start and grow a business.

With locally sourced ingredients, Jadon and his wife offered free samples off of their menu until they had enough customers to work three days a week. As the demand for their sushi grew, they began selling food daily. They currently offer takeout and delivery services all from their apartment and online orders. Their motivation is to give a good life for their children and family.

In 2019, Jadon won first runner-up in the Philippines Academy Awards. He and his wife work together to grow their business, with his wife doing most of the marketing. They have now partnered with Grab and FoodPanda. And the pandemic was considered one of the best years for their business.

“Never forget to pay your tithing and fast offerings,” said Jadon. “The business will always have highs and lows, but you must adapt, keep moving forward, and learn about the market needs.”
